PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS
At Saint Joseph’s Episcopal School, we offer a wonderful opportunity for students to participate in private voice, piano, guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, and drum lessons during the school day. Teachers are college-educated in their particular fields and have years of training as professional performers who are highly qualified. There is a rewards system in place to track the weekly practices with prizes at the end of each month and grand prizes per each recital awarded to the top winners. At each lesson, the teachers give assignments and hold the students accountable for practicing while charting their progress. Parents sign the assignment sheets to keep them involved, and the students have a set program that is in place per lesson, which includes music theory, exercises, and song performance assignments. All piano and singing books that are used are in alignment with well-known, local performing arts schools. There is one recital presented in the Spring, with all recitals occuring here at Saint Joseph’s Episcopal School in Boynton Beach.
Students learn to play an instrument or sing from the beginning level.
They have the opportunity to continue lessons where they have left off.
There are several performance opportunities throughout each year.
Students learn music theory.
All lessons take place during the school day or after school on campus.
Scientific studies have shown that those who take private music lessons increase their IQ, as well as increase understanding and success in all academic subjects by having access to otherwise dormant brain matter which is awakened for the execution of the skills required to play or sing.
