Private Music Lesson Sign Up

Welcome to a new school year at Saint Joseph’s! We are so excited to see each and every smiling face again on campus. Of course with a new school year brings a new year of private lessons. We are happy to announce the addition of two new private music instructors to our program: Maha Bouhamdan and Yazmani Velasquez. This year, we will offer piano, voice, guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, and drums. Ms. Maha is available to teach piano and voice, and Yazmani teaches guitar, bass, ukulele, and drums. We will continue to offer recitals twice a year—one in December and the other in May.

The private lesson program has undergone changes this year. Some of the changes are as follows:

1)      Lessons are given once a week throughout the entire school year. The fees charged are $35.00 for each 25-minute private lesson and $52.00 for each 45-minute private lesson. These fees will be billed through FACTS on the 1st business day of each month for the prior month’s lessons.

2)      If you choose to terminate lessons before the school year ends, you will be billed for the entire month during which you cease lessons, even if only one lesson was taken that month.

3)      If your child misses (or will miss) his/her lesson, you are still responsible for payment of that lesson unless your child is ill or is absent due to a school-scheduled activity. Doctor and dentist appointments are not legitimate excuses to miss lessons. Your instructor must be notified the day of your lesson if your child is ill or 24 hours prior to his/her lesson in the case of a school-scheduled activity (i.e. sports games and/or practices).  Your account will be charged if this procedure is not followed. Some instructors travel to our campus for private lessons, setting aside a place specifically for your child in their schedules, and their time is valuable.

4)      Each instructor is interested in your child’s musical enrichment, and they will encourage students to share their talents in weekly chapels, solo and ensemble evaluations, recitals, and school concerts. Although this is not mandatory, it is a valuable experience for students in the performing arts.

The private music lesson schedule is filling up quickly already. Lessons begin on September 6th. Please submit both the enrollment and contract forms by September 3rd to Rhiannon Aubrey in the main office.

The music team is looking forward to another wonderful year of private lessons!
