How is it that March is already ending? Time sure is flying by! I hope everyone enjoyed a fun yet restful Spring Break. We have now entered the final quarter of the school year; it will be June 2nd—and summer!—before we know it.
Our Jaguar Student Athletes are in Lacrosse season! Both teams—boys and girls—have started off well this season; it’s poised to be an exciting one for our Jaguars! Schedules for both teams are posted on our website at http://www.sjsonline.org/sports-schedules/ and can also be found on RenWeb. Come cheer on our Jags!
The Early Childhood Academy celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday on March 2nd with a fun morning of activities and special snacks. Monthly events at the ECA are such highlights for students, families, and teachers. Call Dolores at (561) 278-7735 to find out more!
Please attend Morning Prayer on Friday, March 31st, if you can because Bishop Peter Eaton will be here! He will participate in the worship service, visit Sacred Studies classes, and have a tour of our campus. This is an exciting event for us; we are blessed to welcome the Bishop to our school!
Our annual Auction—Southern Nights 2017—is in our Gym this Saturday, April 1st! Look forward to a fun evening with amazing bidding opportunities, delicious food, and fellowship like only St. Joe’s offers. Make sure you check out the amazing “New Playground” display to learn about bidding options for that endeavor. For more information, please visit the Auction page of our website at http://www.sjsonline.org/auction/. As we like to say: Bid high, and bid often!
St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church welcomes you to join one (or more) of four wonderful worship services each weekend. There is one at 5:00 on Saturday evenings and three on Sunday—one at 7:45, another at 9:30, and the Unplugged service at 11:45. For more information, please visit the Church’s website at http://www.stjoesweb.org/.
Looking forward to April… ERB standardized testing will take place next week in Grades One through Eight. (Please make sure students get plenty of rest and a hearty breakfast.) Our students have exciting field trips next month, as well, with the Middle School going to The Keys, Fifth Grade visiting Circle F. Dude Ranch, and Fourth Grade blasting off to Kennedy Space Center. The end of the month brings an Eighth Grade tradition—the Fashion Show at Delray Beach Club! If you’ve never attended this, please consider doing so this year; it’s a wonderful event for parents in all grade levels to be together and to celebrate our graduating class. A new event is taking place on April 27th… Hosted by Mr. Pat Coyle (English/History Teacher), “A Night at the Museum” invites all families to a living historical museum—presented by Middle School students. The Parent Organization will be on hand to sell refreshments—with donations going to the new playground.
As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please reach out to the Office, to teachers, to Division Heads, and/or to me directly. The relationship between home and school is essential to all of us at St. Joe’s!
