Curriculum

 

PK through Kingergarten
Physical Education will teach the age-appropriate fundamentals of several sports; how to properly catch and throw a ball and how to how to catch and run with an irregular shaped ball as in a football; how to manipulate a ball with their feet as in soccer and work eye/hand coordination.  Our students will learn to develop their athletic skills in a structured and fun environment. All students will attend physical education classes weekly in the gym. The program is created to cultivate the child’s basic skills. The goal is to develop physical skills such as (Hopping, running, skipping and jumping); Hand/Eye coordination (throwing and catching a ball; hitting and bouncing balls). As well as patience, following instructions and good sportsmanship.

  • Throwing and catching an irregular shaped ball

Elementary
Physical Education will teach the age-appropriate fundamentals of several sports; how to properly catch and throw a ball and how to hit a ball off of a Tee in T-ball; how to catch and run with an irregular shaped ball in flag football; how to dribble and shoot a basketball; how to manipulate and shoot a ball using the feet in soccer; how to control and shoot a puck with a stick in hockey; how to hit a ball off of a tee and control a put in golf; how to hit and return a ball in tennis; how to field and throw a ball in lacrosse; and proper running technique in track. The following sports will be taught:

  • Golf
  • Lacrosse
  • T-Ball
  • Tennis
Middle School

Physical Education will teach age-appropriate fundamentals of several sports; how to properly catch and throw a ball and how to hit a ball off of a Tee in T-ball; how to catch and run with an irregular shaped ball in flag football; how to dribble and shoot a basketball; how to manipulate and shoot a ball using the feet in soccer; how to control and shoot a puck with a stick in hockey; how to hit a ball off of a tee and control a put in golf; how to hit and return a ball in tennis; how to field and throw a ball in lacrosse; and proper running technique in track.  Additionally, grades 5-8 have the opportunity to play competitively on our athletic teams.
