Parent Ambassador Committee

 

Explanation and purpose of program:

Increase the level of interaction among SJES families and staff in order to create a shared sense of purpose and generate increased participation levels in volunteerism and fund raising.

• Reach out to new families
• Orientation
• Social events
• Speaking series on topics of interest
• Facilitate ideas and concerns
• Sounding board – provide staff with insight on both positive and constructive feedback from parents
• Resource – provide families with information on all school resources
• Connections – proactively facilitate improved “parent to parent” and “parent to staff” communications
• Inspire participation
• Reach out and proactively ask for help and participation from families
• Help break down volunteer tasks into small units
• Provide a broad range of opportunities to contribute
• Gratitude – oversee the recognition and appreciation of contributing parents
• Follow-up on outcomes
• Recognition for contributions of time and money (Connections, PO Meetings, etc…)
• Thank-you notes

How parents can get involved and what are the responsibilities:

• Participate in social gatherings as either attendees or hosts
• Attend the new parent orientation
• Attend the speaking series program on key topics such as “Homework”
• Volunteer for focused projects such as Orientation, October Breakfast, Speaking Series, Cocktail parties etc…

Fund Raising Goals:

None.  This group is dedicated to the needs and concerns of families in an effort to boost active participation and commitment to the success of the school.
